Russia plans to disconnect from the internet?

I saw this on Techspot dated Feb 11 and wondered if it was true -- and how it might affect us playing the game -- other than not being able to log on? The article said it was going to be a test and would happen in the coming weeks but no date has been planned. Apparently all internet providers have agreed to participate. Here's the link to the article: https://www.techspot.com/news/78689-russia-plans-completely-disconnect-itself-internet-see-what.html

If no-one can login, sure.

Does the game login process really happen in Russia?

Everything goes through Amazons servers apparently.

I don't care to be honest... I still have flight sims that do not require me to be on the internet... they still give me hours of entertainment   :coffee:

We use Amazon AWS for our master servers. You shouldn't have any issues. I read about that too.

What with clients within Russia? Finly one day of free slots at Wings Of Liberty ;)

The entire country disconnecting from the internet. A test of some sort? It sounds a bit ominous.

It does doesn't it.

By doing so they are disconnecting themselves from the rest of the world, no news going in or out, total control over what the population sees and hears. Pretty crazy if you ask me.

Reminds me of a cold war scenario for some reason.

Hopefully we can still get Premier Kissoff on the hot-line if we need to....

Plenty of Russian pron sites - so I am told.  Enough to keep the comrades warm.

Actually the Russian population gets more reliable news than what we get here from this bs corporate media.

If you rely on western mainstream news you are in fantasy land.

All major news outlets are bull no matter what country you're in. I don't trust any news for the most part. I check multiple sources and don't buy in to all the political propaganda.

I most certainly don't trust any major news outlet from Russia or the US, they're both filled with BS.
