Voyager Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 More of a basic question, but was wondering to what level Lean of Peak engine operation is currently modelled? Basically a P-47N Pilots Training Manual, I found a digital copy of notes for extreme range cruising, where speed is no object, setting the MP to 33.5", dialing the RPM back to 1700 and then manually leaning until just before the engine gets rough "really saves gas." I realize it's a very niche application, so likely low on the priorities, but wanted to ask and see, because I find it a fun thing to play around with. Thank you, Harry Voyager
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Maybe some day. Right now there is no Sound Implemented for "Running Rough". Leaning saves Gas, and is a bit exploitable as Engine Knock isn't in yet.
Voyager Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 Well, the RPM kick is in there at least. The directions to detect roughness was to set the prop pitch to manual, and watch for the RPMs to start wavering.
