RedKestrel Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Hello All, I've recently moved to a (more) rural area and I'm dealing with a bit of a downgrade in my internet service. Previously I had relatively 10.0 MbPS down and 2.0 MbPS up for my internet - not stellar but the best I could get in my small town. I've moved to a smaller outlying area and now I have 8.0 Mbps down and 1.0 MbPS up. Its honestly not bad for our usage patterns, better than I was expecting. The real difference is that this internet is delivered via wireless - I have a dish on my house that sends and receives signals from a nearby tower. How much of a difference does this kind of connection make for delays and ping in MP vs. a broadband or wired connection? My server list rarely shows any ping rating at all. Is it worth trying or am I just going to be rubberbanding around everyone's screens and being a nuisance?
EpeeNoire Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) my guess would be that you should be able to play with no problem whatsoever at all as 8 down and 1 up is more than enough for that game (or pretty much any game, actually) the only thing that could be causing trouble is the fact that wireless internet tends to be not as reliable as cable one. but all the times it is working, it should do fine just, as mentioned before.
