JG7_X-Man Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 ...It's been long enough Only 11,000 were made vs the 38,000 IL-2 which means the aircraft wasn't an uber sniper gunner aircraft this game would lead everyone to believe. LOL! if it were an uber plane, the VSS would have just need the the Pe-2 and no need to escort them. Please correct the fire dispersion - they are too accurate, especially when they are being fired upon, nerves of steal I suppose - all hyped on vodka. But seriously - there is no way 2 7.62 mm machine guns could so as much damage in real life as the can in this game. 1 1
354thFG_Leifr Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) I used to think the same as you X-Man, and then I spent a considerable length of time in the Peshka online with friends. Also worth noting, the ser.87 version can take a blister turret on the rear that upgrades the 7.62mm guns to a single 12.7mm gun - that is much more deadly than the usual loadout, I also think it's the version most people take. Oh, it also only has one round of ammunition too. For what it's worth, I've been 'sniped' by a single-shot return fire from a JU-87 Stuka... ? Maybe spend a few hours in the Peshak on Wings of Liberty, KoTR or Coconuts server and see what you think? Edited February 10, 2019 by Leifr
6FG_Big_Al Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) Well, I don't understand the moaning. 1. what is lacked here concerns also all other AI gunners. 2. there are no 7,62mm but 50.Cal on the cockpit and belly. 3. the production numbers have to do only conditionally with the strength per se. So if you [edited] fly with your airplane directly behind a Pe2, then you don't need to be surprised if the gunners tear you apart. I guess that was only a 109 without gunpods. This isn't the best loadout to shoot down a bomber. 3x20mm or at least a 30mm would be more suitable. And before the complaining about it starts again. I played myself (update 3010) in singleplayer against some experts Pe2 and didn't have any problems with the according weapons. A few days ago I was on WoL in an "uber" Pe2 and was simply shot down with my squadron mates without getting a kill. So much for the topic. lg Rico Edited February 10, 2019 by SYN_Haashashin Not needed... 1
JG7_X-Man Posted February 10, 2019 Author Posted February 10, 2019 As we don't hear much complaints about any other aircraft but the Pe-2, you have to admit there is some validity in the fact several people seem there is a problem. I am not taking about the survivability of the aircraft, my concern is the dispersion of fire. It is my notion that their ai gunners are a tad too accurate.

Pe-2 gunner is nothing more advanced then any other gunner, it just have bigger guns, axis bombers can easy track you same like allied bomber gunners, diff is they shoot with smaller calibar most of time, but they get you in same strange angles like they do on allied bombers from time to time. 2
SAS_Storebror Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) Guys you completely misunderstood X-Man. He didn't complain about Pe-2 "sniper gunners" (that's an old Luftwhiner myth which got rebutted long time ago), he's talking about SNIPPERS. Take away the whipper snippers from Pe-2 gunners is what he's saying. While I didn't see any of the Peshka gunners using a whipper snipper yet, I must say I agree that if they did this would indeed by an unfair advantage. It's just the turret design that changes. 1
