Hello folks, I just invested in a gaming computer upgrade i7 8700k ,SSD , 32 GB ram, 2080 ti etc and I'm wondering about the VR settings?  Anti Aliasing 4x, is this the same as supersampling? I have the Rift and I really don't see any difference. Still blurry. Same as the debug tool. No difference . Can you run debug setting SS at the same time as the AA in game or only one at a time? I've tried both and also one at a time. Same blurry image no matter what .

In the game AA? It's 4x rotated-grid multi-sampling as I am aware. At least looks like one.

Not as good as a super-sampling but pretty good and fast.

Yes you can run both AA and SS for your Rift.

I use the Oculus Tray Tool to set my SS for IL-2, currently running it at 1.50.

I run only 2x AA as it looks great to me at that with the SS at 1.50.. ( I have SteamVR fixed at 100%)

Texture filter to Sharp helps some also.

Off in the distance will still be somewhat blurry, close in should look pretty sharp. I also fly with ASW disabled, I get a better experience myself. I use the Oculus Tray Tool to set that for IL-2 also.

Make sure you overclock your 8700K, at least ensure that your all-core turbo is something useful like 4.7ghz. Many people here are managing higher all-core overclocks but that will depend on your cooling and appetite for fiddling around.

For a 2080ti I would suggest you start with 1.2 pixel density using OTT. And get rid of SteamVR, it's a piece of crap. Here's a post with some suggestions for a guy with a 1070ti, you have a much better card so can crank the settings more.
