oho Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I never had problems with strong sidewind landings so that I had to use rudder strongly and allign it on touch down. I'm flying career and pwcg offline where I often have 2-3 m/s wind. I know there is a Training Mission with heavy side wind and there for the only time I feel it and had to correct with rudder. Is this too easily modelled or in reality do I need more wind to feel an effect? What's your opinion?
Guest deleted@50488 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Form my RL experience I find x-wind modelled very plausibly n BoX. 3-3 m/s is around max 6 knot, and probably not exactly 90º... som it's really easily manageable... Try with 10+ m/s and add some turbulence too...
Jade_Monkey Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) Maybe because there are no gusts of wind, so when you make the corrections then you are all set? Just a guess. Edited February 7, 2019 by Jade_Monkey
SCG_motoadve Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Landings overall are super easy, you done with your mission and you know landing will be a non issue, tailwind , crosswind or whatever. You dont need to work for your landings, or pick a runway for landing depending on winds. With that said , so far have not seen a simulator civilian or military that models landings even remotely close to being realistic. Maybe developers make it this way for playability? Technology is not there to make them more realistic?
Voidhunger Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 When your plane is undamaged its easy buts not a big issue for me. Bu i had sometimes very bad landings when my plane was damaged. That was cool. 1
