GPU Mem Speed Issue with Rift Software Version 1.34

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

With the latest version of the Rift software rolling out (1.34), some may have noticed their GPU's max memory speed has dropped around 200 MHz when Oculus Home is launched.

Appears to be an issue with this version of the Rift software with Nvidia cards.

My 2080 Ti default Mem speed is 7000 MHz, and it drops to 6800 MHz when Oculus Home is running.

Oculus has acknowledged the issue and hopefully are working on a fix. In the meantime a user over on the Oculus forums found a way around this by using Nvidia Profile Inspector 2.1.3.20 to set the Cuda- Force P2 state to off.

Mem speeds get back to it's max again when doing this. Temporary solution until Oculus rolls out a fix. I did this and got my GPU Mem speed back to 7000 MHz.

Not sure that is really enough of a memory speed drop to notice in actual gameplay but if like me I like knowing my GPU is running at what it is supposed to run.
