No_85_Gramps Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Originally you could adjust these limits in the multiplayer settings screen, but the option is no longer there. I have noticed the entries in the startup.cfg and mine are set to 10240 down and 4096 up, which is fine for my system. But, if need be, can those entries in the cfg be changed? And what type of issues might arise if someone is pushing 10240 for upload on a connection that only supports 6144 ? And last, how does IL2 BOS determine what settings to use ?
CountZero Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Yes you can change them in startup.cfg located in your main game folder-data folder. They said long time ago that you should use values that are 4x less then your mesured speeds, so if you have upload of only 6mb use 4x less then that for best expiriance. They explained that in DD65.
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 10x10 mb's now but Yes when running slower broadband i ran it as stated above by countZ below what you would think ! i Which the owners of the game would change the Hosting Company / server provider and up speeds to what one would expect for a Multiplayer diverse game of today But as stated once before it's not all about multiplayer !

Thanks CountZero! I don't have an issue on my system but I have a friend who has a 10 down/6 up connection yet IL2 set both down and up values at 10. Not sure how IL2 decides what to use in the absence of user input.
