Tank Crew Bug in T-34 Custom skins are getting misplaced

I tried with some non-historic skin I made. Everything seems to work fine, skin is correctly listed under custom skins in the menu . . . but then only the inside of the tank seems to change, which is weird.

The skin is correct, because when I put it in the location of the default skin (graphics/vehicles/_t34-76stz/textures) it shows up in gameplay as the (new) official skin. So it can't be the skin itself that is the problem. DDS settings are correct, length of name is correct, skinfolder is correct (skins/_t34-76stz) . . .  I have no clue what the problem could be - and especially why the interior of the tank is changing (I can see the inside of the open hatch changing color in the winter version) instead of the exterior   :-o

 

 

 

As you can see, the red star is shown because I first changed the default skin to be sure the skin itself isn't the problem. It seems to be the way the custom skin is handled.

 

The rainbow colored test skin seems to replace the original t34-fp.dds which is the inside of the hatch.
