Dagwoodyt Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I admit that I have criticized BoX ai for "constantly turning" during 1v1 matchups. Recently however I have started to consistently give the "ace" ai the "superior" aircraft. For instance, I will fly an I16 with default armament against "ace" ai flying a 109 G2. This choice has led to consistently entertaining matches, frequently over 30 min in length. Matches routinely feature the ai climbing to 6-7000m then, at my option, repeated reversals at altitude with potential for head-on shots, interspersed with ai entering long dives where I have to check settings at dive entry to avoid killing my engine, followed by ai zooming back to higher altitude. Also, as of the latest update, I have yet to take a wing off a 109. The 109 can absorb numerous hits and keep flying. I now mostly just try to inflict enough damage so that I can enter a sustained climbing turn until the ai bleeds out fluids while I head toward intended airfield until the ai crashes. Now, OTOH when I watch YouTube videos I will typically see replays of online matches where hapless victims are dispatched in seconds in a hail lead. I would really like to see how some of these videographers would address ai matchups similar to what I have described. Admitedly such vids may exist, but I have not come across them yet.
