Observations between 2 VR titles and SteamVR influence in resolution

Hardware Pimax 8K, Gigabyte Aero 15X with i7700-HQ, GTX1979 Max-Q, 16Gb ram etc.

Titles Il2 BoX, SteamVR Home and Assetto Corsa

Observations:

Il2 BoX and Steam VR home with the Pimax 8K tend to have issues with edge distortion when rendering Normal and Wide FOV.  The resolutions in these apps are set in SteamVR and to be honest the combination of Resolution and SS on a sliding scale is a terrible function of SteamVR.  Maybe it works for the Vive but not here.

Assetto Corsa's resolution and display settings are independent of SteamVR.  The Resolution is determined in game and it gives a traditional drop down of resolutions corresponding to the display panel that is being used, in my case 4K (which I assume corresponds to the 2 x 4K panels of the Headset).  From this it is easy to set 1080p, 1440p or 4K resolutions for the headset and they correspond in the games VR world.  The difference is that there is much reduced image distortion in general and especially on the Edges of ones FOV.

I would wonder if it would be better for 1C/777 to do similar in bypassing SteamVR Render Settings for Il2 BoX series and just have it in game instead settings.

Also it would be nice to have a variety of secondary display mirroring options in Il2 like SteamVR does with both eyes, or Left / Right or Centered single display mirroring to even off.  Just some observations and thoughts.

I would more like to see SLI capability for VR in BoX as in this VR-SLI case each VR screen will be powered by one Vcard. So no distortion that two vcards are sending both a signal to one screen source, like you normally notice when running SLI on a monitor.

Think lots of players that running now on low like GTX1070 to GTX1080 users, can upgrade cheap by using an extra secoundhand Vcard in SLI and the highend players using the RTX2080ti and TitanRTX  can finaly go to the limit on eyecandy.
