Blitzen Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 I've had various working versions of the OTT since I first bought Rift, but this latest version has me asking a few questions.First & foremost: is it actually working? i think it is ,clarity seems about the same as previous versions ,but I get no vocal conformation. This troubles me. Second when I first hit 'Profiles i get no list at all;in precious versions I got a big list of various games it worked with. Now I have to add a new game, which means i search out the exe. for BoS.No biggee but it used to be there automatically. I do get a list of Oculus games i have purchased when I hit game library. However BoS is not to be found here or in game Oculus.Of course it is in Steam library but more often than not game will not appear n Headset when starting in Steam 9 it does show up double screened on monitor though..) and MUST be started thru the exe found in Bin folder. All of this leaves me thinking I must have not ticked off the correct box/option somewhere? i included a few screenies of the OTT in action just in case someone can spot the error or has some advice that might help.thanks!
NiiranenVR Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Youre not the only one - I have the same feeling with mine !
NiiranenVR Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 (edited) But as I see there will come an update in few days , but maybe we have to fix it manually - and not with the update button Edited January 18, 2019 by Sire From 12 January
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 (edited) As I said in the past, recommend not to use the OTT. It has features like "Set CPU priority high" that make IL-2 run worse, with frametime spikes. Sometimes it borks up the audio switches. It uses PD instead of SS. You complained about performance (frametime spikes) and other issues in the past, yet continue to use OTT. Well.. ?♂️ P.S. You are using a SuperSampling equivalent of of 256%, not 160%. Just thought I should let you know, as you said in the past that you had used my settings from the sticky thread. PD² = SS. Edited January 18, 2019 by SCG_Fenris_Wolf

Thanks for the SS tip in the back of my mind I knew about this but just forgot when setting up this newest version.I will definitely reset- if memory serves at 1.0 correct? As I said I’m not even sure it is working,BUT I’m not noticing any negative effects either >Last night I “flew” a 110 night interception mission in a scripted campaign & within the limits of RIFT SDE I was able to ( with the help of searchlights) identify & destroy 2 Pe-2’s.So not too bad. Quite a while ago I found I could not try Steam to give me a “clean” start ,as I mentioned above it starts VR display on the monitor, but not in the headset, so I start from the exe.often without Steam even on. What drove me to OTT was a jittery presentation of the game esp. within the gunsight picture which OTT instantly solved. Perhaps Steam also offers a solution as well in its general settings & its VR headset settings, but with the correct direction I’d be willing to try starting with only Steam in effect. After trying Samsung HMD+ briefly ,I’ve gone back to Oculus until I feel Vive or Pimax have ironed out the glitches & modifications they apparently need at this point. I guess I’m holding back until SDE is greatly reduced & clarity issues are greatly improved. In any case thanks for your advice.
dburne Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 No real problem on my end with OTT, just couple of niggles here and there. He is working on a new version that should be out soon with some fixes as well.

By the way, pressing CTRL+Numpad(1) when in the cockpit after first loadup is what disables ASW (the jittery gunsight picture you experienced). It's an Oculus feature and has its advantages in other scenarios. Yeah I'm also curious about the Pimax5k+ or the 8k. Hoping they can resolve the latter's issues - the bottleneck in signal transmission is the big bummer. If they get this solved and get input:output 1:1, then this headset has the potential to kick the current gens and future one into the n**s ?
