Is it possible to MUTE the artillery and flyby sounds of the main menu?

Ideally, I would like some 40's jazz to be playing while browsing the menus, but I understand that it is complicated work.

 

I am getting quite weary of the artillery sounds and while the default music is mutable, is this somehow doable for the sounds as well?

I grew weary of the repetitive ambient background sounds after a while too, however, in this very forum, thanks to Ptk, there is a GUI Background Mute Mod: ?

GUI_Background_Mute removes the ambient sounds at game start if you're tired of listening to them like me. Anything weird with this, let me know.

P40 a20 gun test swaps the p40 50 cal sounds for the a20 50 cal sound. It's a simple edit, compare it with the original if you want to mess around with some other sounds.

weird though its not working for me and I installed using JSGME. Maybe works if you have mods on, but I don't run the game that way. Shame
