Shadoware Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) Im playing with BF109F4 or G2(without wind). Many times when I just click to unlock tailwheel the plane stumble and the tip of the wing touches the ground. That's unpredictable and uncontrollable! There's no way a plane can be so unstable in real life. I think that is kind a bug. Please fix it! No way to such a instability! Edited January 15, 2019 by Shadoware
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) When going straight, or in a long Curve, the Tailwheel has about 2° Play, so use that. And in any Taildragger: Taxi Slowly. You are probably going too fast, because it feels slow. Compare how fast you are taxiing, and how fast he is taxiing and you'll find that you are just going like a Maniac. Also: Don't go full Throttle. Keep it at 1200RPM, and only move the Throttle Slowly. The one you show, also has a Spring Loaded Tailwheel, as can be seen in 10:02, which wasn't fitted to the Originals. Edited January 15, 2019 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann
Shadoware Posted January 15, 2019 Author Posted January 15, 2019 The problem is not that. Sometime even with plane completely stop it stumbles. Sometimes it stumbles when I lock the rear wheel too. I realize that if I lock the tailwheel with some rudder input it stumbles. The plane behavior is not completely predictable anyway. If there's wind on the airfield the problem is worst because we dont have a wind cone on every place it seems. Many times when the game starts if I just touch the taillock button the plane stumbles and I have to restart it. Too boring!
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Video please, maybe it's a different Issue. Could be a double Binding or something. Here is an extensive List of People explaining how to Taxi the 109 https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=il-2+taxiing+109
Shadoware Posted January 16, 2019 Author Posted January 16, 2019 (edited) I tried to record the problem now but it didn't happen. Its a random problem anyway but I think it could be caused by my hotas because theres some noise in some axis sometimes. There are not many axis assigned too, just rudder, ailerons, stabilizer and throttle off course. The other axis on the hotas is not attached to any function. Im using X52 pro. If some axis can cause this problem I could set a greater dead point to avoid noise but I dont know what axis could cause the issue if I just unlock the tail wheel, even with engine turned off, no wind and no turbulence. There's no control surface moving when it happens too. The plane should not be destabilized anyway if its not even moving with no wind and no turbulence. Edited January 16, 2019 by Shadoware
SharpeXB Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 When you watch those real life videos, those are expert pilots handling the aircraft. They just make it look easy. Handling a tail dragger, especially a WWII fighter on the ground is difficult. Check these out
SCG_motoadve Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 And actually its way too easy in this game, probably for playability reasons.
