Aww I enjoyed that one! How come you deleted it mate?

You were right.... the double vision on the screen ruined it so I deleted the video. I need to find a screen capture program that records as a single image in VR. I haven’t had the time to figure it out yet.

Using the native IL2 in-game recorder is fine for external shots but doesn’t work for explaining nav as I can’t show the map or record voice.

Just record the replays on a monitor?

Yes I use Shadowplay for capturing clips to be used in my videos. Shadowplay simply captures whatever my monitor displays, and playing using Oculus Rift the screen is split down the middle into two half’s each showing what one eye is seeing.

Im sure there’s a way to change the displayed image on my monitor to a single view, I just haven’t had the time to figure it out yet.

You can use mencoder to make duble vision cut to the one. I use to use it with nvidia 3d vision recordings from Rise of Flight - should work with VR recordings too.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/

I made simple script .bat to made  it easy (this also compress the video to reduce it size - you can remove that part and use only transformation part from it)

@ECHO OFF

for /r %%I in (*.mp4) do (

SET "dupa=%%~nI"

SETLOCAL EnableDelayedExpansion

mencoder %%I -oac mp3lame -lameopts mode=0:vbr=2:br=32 -fps 29 -vf stereo3d=sbs2l:ml,scale -ovc x264 -x264encopts bitrate=2500:subq=6:partitions=all:8x8dct:me=umh:frameref=5:bframes=3:b_pyramid=normal:weight_b -o %%I_

RENAME "%%I_" "%%~nI.avi"

)
