Hello,

I use Joystick Gremlin to map some physical devices to a virtual vJoy.

If I define only one vJoy (virtual), then I can use it in IL2. If I add a second vJoy, then IL2 does not

recognize vJoy devices anymore.

See files attached :

   devices.txt : configuration recognized

wrong2vjoy_devices.txt -> problem in IL2 with both virtual Joystick.

What can I do to solve this problem (if possible). Any clue or advice for a solution is welcome.

Best regards

I ran into this sort of a problem just yesterday. The problem is that IL-2 picks the input from the joystick (vjoy included) from the device that has the lowest ID. I tried to map buttons that were numbered >64 in the physical device. I had already mapped those <64 in the Gremlin but IL-2 kept getting "something" from those and decide to map those as miscellaneous pov-hat numbers that were not actually working in-game. It just did not care for those gremlin-mapped buttons at all. Gremlin DID send those remapped buttons also; I could see both of those buttons being pressed in DCS for example.

The solution was to "remove device" in control panel for all physical joysticks I had, and the remove and re-plug those joysticks. With a bit of luck they got bigger id numbers. After that I was able to use key mapper in IL-2 succesfully as it registered the vJoy device earlier than the physical device.

I know this is old thread, but someone could still run into this issue so I posted this anyway.

EDIT:Hidguardian within Gremlin might have done the trick also
