Multi coloured tracer install

Just downloaded this mod which comes as a zip file and i have been trying to install, i selected to install as directed and extracted to my main directory [ IL-2 Sturmovik battle of Moscow ] but its not installing [still getting the old tracer effect]  what am i doing wrong, if so could i get a step by step install path.    Cheers

Have you enabled mod's 'in game'?

This Mod sounds fun, but for some reason I can't get it to install.  I've installed the downloaded 'Multicoloured tracers' file into my Mods folder, enabled it through JGSME but no luck.  I'd be grateful for any advice on installation from anyone who's managed to get it working successfully.
