Jasta 5 Flying Circus Flugpark Server

Here are some details regarding the work completed thus far:

Was there a hotfix yesterday or so? I don't recall updating because the launcher was behind some windows, but I recall seeing a message of 'failed to update'. But the game is running fine other than the servers.

Matt indicates he thinks there are micro fixes that can be deployed out behind the scenes meta server side without triggering the need to "update" on the user end.

 

We are working to do a fresh game install, see if the existing missions work.  If not, we are considering directing efforts to creating a simple mission to test on the server.  If that works, then build on that working mission behind the scenes (along with a few upgrades/revisions) in order that the Flugpark becomes available at the earliest possible time for the community.  We can try to figure out over time what exactly happened (quite possible we will never know) as we move forward building on a working server.  Thank you for all your patience and support.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

S! Everyone,

After extensive testing and re-installs it appears we may have to rebuild all missions from scratch. We tested this theory by creating a simple mission and we were able to get in the mission. Matt has confirmed this is what we will probably need to do. We hope to have the server  back up soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Do you know exactly what caused the problem, If you have to build new missions how do you know it won't happen again? Think what I'd do is copy and paste parts of the old missions and see if they work until I hit the problem. That way it won't be so much work, The editor is such a pain and becomes a mess in no time. Hope it works for you.

Just as a feedback, I saw that J5 was online at the moment, but wasn't able to login. It loads for a while and then you go back to the coop / dogfight page. I also deleted my mission files, but no luck.

Edit: Tried again and now I can't connect. Guys, it's just not the mission.

I also suspect it is not the missions, rather something port or firewall related. Maybe something got updated? Windows update maybe?

I agree this may be the issue. I was thinking of this last night after we wore ourselves out with the dserver, creating simple missions to test and everything else game related. We were able to create a simple mission and get in but it was not consistent. It seems the only thing left is the windows side like security, ports forwarding or other security issues. I don't know what window updates have been applied but feel the issue is somewhere in windows. ( stupid windows)

Might help to run System Recovery for checking how far back you can go there?

Personaly I have taken to make from time to time a manual recovery point since win 10 no longer promps one nor does it anylonger automaticaly.

If lucky this may bring the server back to a point before its problems started.

Cut it some slack cause one can always update win 10 but if one has to undo the recovery older recovery points are most likely lost.

@ J5_Sturm you might check your "swf" files on your server match the ones in your game files.

This has caused problems with ROF servers.

Work continues looking into the source of the problems preventing access to the Flugpark.  For the time being the server will be deactivated until functionality is able to be restored.  We will keep the community appraised of any updates or status changes on this thread. 

 

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding and words of support.  In the meantime, we encourage you to fly Flying Circus on the FC JG1 server, ZooWings and other FC based servers.   Keep up the fight in the air!

West, we have been working on solution and just getting around to checking and responding to posts in the forums, thanks for your input and I will pass this information to Matt but at this point I am not sure what he has tried and it could be these thing are on his list to do but I am not sure at this point.

Thanks HillBilly sorry for the the delayed response I haven't checked the forums because we were working and trying possible solutions to our issue. I believe Matt has done this already but I am not sure and will pass this along to him. I want to thank everyone for your patience and encouragement as we work on this issue. Matt is pouring many hours into finding out what our issue is. In our testing and picking apart different parts of the mission we think we are getting close to a solution. We are hoping we don't have to rebuild the missions as this would take much more time. We are making headway and hopefully we will have it all sorted out soon. We will keep everyone informed as we move closer to the solution.

I am happy to report that the Jasta 5 Flugpark is back up and better than ever!  Thanks to all the Flying Circus community members who expressed concern and offered suggestions and assistance in helping us resolve the situation.  Thanks for your patience and support.  We will get the parser connected shortly. In the meantime have fun!

Excellent work, guys. Flew on Sunday and had a blast. A couple 'unconfirmed' with no parser was a very small price to pay to have the Flugpark back!

For some reason I went off-ranking on the parser. I can still find my December scores until the server got bugged, but I'm not showing up on the Pilot Rankings (I have 8 kills, then I should come in 6th place, and I could not find myself on the other pages) and Best Live Pilots tabs (I should come in 6th place as well).

 

Is this temporary? I'm not sure if other people got missing from the rankings as well. Perhaps when the parser gets back online, if I get a kill, my score will be back?

If you're inactive for a period of time (I think 7 days) you don't appear on the lists.

 

Your last sortie was listed as 12/2. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to down a few planes in your absence.

As a second thought, the pilot rankings show everyone, even people with 3min of flying time during the month. I'm not there. There are only 62 players listed in December, some with zero flight time.

 

Perhaps it is a bug.

I am not sure as I am not the expert but it seems as though something in the registry was damaged in the last windows update. There again I am not sure even though I spent 2 days with Matt as he worked on this, I was mainly just the gofor. (go for this go for that ? )

In game MP listing marks the server Expert making it default expert so with:

- navigation markers;

- warmed up engine.

So count on that marking disapearing together with the navigation marker )))
