I am sure this has been posted before, but that persistent broken line that can be seen around the edges of aircraft when set against cloud or certain types terrain [snow capped mountains] is this something that is yet to be resolved or is it a case of the lack of graphic card quality  [ Gigabyte gtx 980 ]    i hope it's the former !!!

Cheers

While the watchdogs and moderators are falling over themselves, I’ll try to explain as quickly as possible.

It’s a side effect of the way the clouds are designed.  The devs say they are aware of it but have no plans to make any changes in that area.   You can find a couple of mods in the Mods section however that will help a lot with the problem.

Set clouds to high in Graphics Settings, aa to 2x, and in the Nvidia Control Panel 3D settings, try setting antialaising transparency to multisample.

See if that helps.

It's not specific to one graphics card. I has something to do with how the engine composites the clouds in the scene (some say its Z-buffer fighting but I don't know for sure). We've asked a few times and been told that to fix this problem is a major one to do with the graphics engine. I don't think we'll see this solved for quite some time.

Only setting the clouds to high works. The clouds are unaffected by anti-aliasing in my tests.

As Fewthered_IV has stated, devs already said they are not going to fix it.  Many cloud discussions. There’s no fix. There won’t be one. We have to live with it
