War relics of any sort have been the main tourist magnet and source of income for local communities in that area of the world. For this reason Solomon Islands government passed a law many years ago prohibiting removal and exporting of these relics abroad. Looks like It can still be done, but requires lots of diplomacy and money, used in legal and not-quite-legal manner I presume. Edited December 31, 2018 by Art-J
