Yuri*desTals Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Good day and Happy New Year, straight to the point>> about the difference between the "empty weight" and "minimum weight", (empty weight-minimum weight) = 320kg *minimum weight (no ammo, 10% fuel) so, 320kg - 62.6kg = 257.4kg *62.6kg 10% fuel weight My question is, what is the remaining weight is for(257.4kg)? additional: calculation for the fuel, if 626kg/840L = X/84L then, x = 62.6kg Enclosure (1) data source
Solmyr Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) Maybe empty weight is without ammo nor weapons ? Maybe even without any gunsight, radio, and things like that, quite like the prototype was when still in a sort of "civilian" state ? I guess empty weight also is without any fluids so that the aircraft actually wouldn't be able to fly, neither even to start up.. Edited December 29, 2018 by Solmyr
Finkeren Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) The crew members make up the main portion of those 257kg. The rest is the oil in the oil tank. For obvious reasons ‘minimum takeoff weight’ always includes the weight of the crew and a full oiltank - empty does not. Edited December 29, 2018 by Finkeren 1

Lusekofte Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) Two crew members in full gear actuall weight with personal weapon and parachute good insulated clothing dingy and other emergency equipment probably weight over 200 kg. The signal pistol + ammo weight 3 kg alone Edited December 29, 2018 by LuseKofte 1

JtD Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 There are 98kg of oil, 52 kg of water, 190kg for pilot and gunner, 50kg for BK gun mounts and 15kg for wheel covers listed as extras in the game file. The 2 MG17 are listed with 57kg. The 2 sirens with 9kg. Quite a bit added, much more than 260kg. So the question would be what's already in the empty plane, as it is very easy to bridge the 260kg gap. My guess is in the standard loadout it's crew, MG17's and wheel covers, with water and oil already included in empty.

And come to think of it, there is a miriad of things that add up. The oxygen in the bottles alone must account for a couple of kilos.
Yuri*desTals Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 Thank you everyone for their gracious replies, so its probably safe to assume that this also applies to other aircraft.
