=BES=Senor_Jefe Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) Bit of context first. I've been using trackIR for a few years and will be making the move to Oculus. As everyone did, I spent A LOT of time deciding on what I like best for the default view (something close to 1:1 while still being able to see some gauges). Long story short; I tweaked ALL of my default views to suit my trackIR needs, but I'm worried about needing to do the same thing in VR. So two questions: 1. Is the game's default view the go-to view for VR? I never liked my default view being 50% zoomed, so I always just zoomed out all the way and moved my pilot's head forward. 2. If not, is there an easy method for getting the perfect 1:1 view? Thanks, Coyote Edited December 25, 2018 by =BES=Coyote-66
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 1. From a zoom (FOV) perspective you won't need to worry about this. Seating position you will need to worry about. The head position will be set to game defaults or wherever you saved them for TIR. This will be incorrect certainly for German planes with offset gunsights, an possibly for your allied planes as well. 2. Position your view where you feel it needs to be and press F10. Then sit normally and press the reset/recenter VR view. Not sure if the actual position is getting saved through restarts as the ability to press F10 in VR snuck in during a recent update. While your reading this, understand that only Spitfires and P47 have gunsights large enough for both eyes to see the reticle at the same time. All other fighters you use just a single eye. (Your eyes are physically too far apart). Use a 109 or 190 at first in VR (with both eyes open) until you understand how you are supposed to use the sight, then move to an allied plane like a lagg or yak. You will soon realise why the German gunsights are offset.
