TomB Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Hi - I have a joystick and a yoke installed, also two throttle quadrants from Logitech and a rudder. The controller interface in IL2 Sturmovik is very simple. The problem hwever is that I cannot easily change between e.g. the joystick (most aircrafts) and the yoke (e.g. for aircraft like JU-52). I must disconnect the controller I do not want from the PC. Also the game just recognises the controler that was installed earlier (e.g with the two throttle quadrants). Is there a way to handle this without the need to disconnect the controller I do not want? Thanks and regards, Thomas
SCG_motoadve Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Also have a joystick and Yoke, and wanted to just switch betwen flighters and bombers without disconnecting either one, but could not manage to make it work. 1
Remontti Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 I wonder what happens if you use a software to bind yoke and joystick to same virtual joystick? One solution could be with such software (like joystick gremlin) that you make profiles for yoke and joystick. Then you activate the needed profile without need to exit the game. 1
Sokol1 Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Disconnect controllers from PC is not needed, but reassign main axes (aileron, elevator) in game controls is required for use one or other, there are no option for multiple profiles. Buttons is not need reassign, because for each control (e.g. fire main weapons) are 3 assignment boxes, so in one box set stick button , in other box yoke button. Joystick Gremlin allow mix all this controls in one virtual and create different profiles, could be a solution, although it will be one "gadget" more in game background. 1
Remontti Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I noticed that you can bind multiple axis to same command. Pitch/roll with two axis seemed to work ok as long as the unused joystick is in neutral position. So no need for 3rd party software. Plug yoke and joystick both in and bind both to pitch/roll. 1

Just tried it, so added the Yoke, I was able to fly the bomber with the yoke, but the joystick would not work.(I did not removed the joystick.). So its a matter of adding it if planning on flying a bomber and then delete the command in settings.
Remontti Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 I tested with my joystick and with two rotary knobs from my throttle. Joystick worked fine but at first only the rotary pitch worked. Nothing happened with rotary roll. I thought I accidently binded the rotary roll incorrect. I had bound it correctly but binded it again. On the second time also the roll worked. The rotary knobs were working like a poor mans trims. I doubt the devs had this in mind when they designed the system. You could try binding them again and see if you get them working. Or maybe I was just lucky to get them working the way that you seek.
