Alfaunostebas11 Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Having purchased the Macchi 202, I noticed that this plane has no elevator trim, so it' very difficult to level fly and to slow down the speed without lowering the nose. In the approach and landing phase (with extended flaps), having to increase the angle of attack and not having the trim to raise the nose I have no other option but pull the control bar, with the result that at the touch down the joystick it is completely pulled towards me and I have no other chance to further raise my nose if not increasing the thrust. In this way heavy landings sometimes occur. In the presentation of the plane I read that it has an adjustment of the horizontal stabilizer that makes the function of the trim, but, in the controls of IL-2 I do not find what is the suitable command. I found an "adjustable stabilizer axis" entry but it does not seem to have any effect.Do you have any ideas?
czech693 Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 "adjustable stabilizer axis" is the correct control to use. In Key Settings it has to be assigned to an axis like a lever, and not a button. 1
Ehret Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 As above. I can offer a tip too but related to flying coordinated in the MC-202. Keep your speed in the 400-500km/h (indicated) band and the plane will stay about straight just by herself. I think it's because of the asymmetric wings; quite a design choice!
Alfaunostebas11 Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 Thank you. adjustable stabilizer axis OK Czech. But you mean that I have to assign a slider from the Joy and not a key from keyboard ? I see in the setting key maps it was assigned (I think by default) LSHIFT+Cursor up / down. But it semme not to work. Now I try with a slider command.
AndyJWest Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 There is nothing preventing keyboard commands being used for the adjustable stabiliser.
czech693 Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Yes, you are correct. The default command is key presses. Also, the horizontal stabilizer moves really slow so it may be working when you press a button.
Alfaunostebas11 Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 OK czech, now it work ! Thank you.
