How to change nickname in game?

I know there is a solution in FAQ, but I already did it. The strange thing is: my nickname here was "Fireball1975" which was taken from Steam account. My nickname in game is "raven1975" and I don't know if I typed it somewhere. I changed "Fireball1975" to "Blackmessiah" what already works here, but "raven1975" in game isn't changed. Should it be changed by you manually? I would be in game under the nickname "Blackmessiah".

I did change my nick name twice as I started as a single player, but then discovered MP for me and joined a virtual squad. So, there is no

problem in changing your nick and usually you don't need the devs or support for this, except of course if you really messed too much with it.

 

So let's check some points:

 

1. How do you login on the IL Great Battles home page - what nickname is displayed in the account information?
   
   My example (have glimpse on the red arrow!)
   
   
   
   Now this is my nickname - plus I have a squad tag - which will be combined to my actual nick name that is -IRRE-Therion.
   
   Forget about the squad tag at the moment in your case - just be sure to have your new nick Blackmessiah displayed in the
   Username field (red arrow!)
    
2. As you know - to login in you game you need to use the same email address you indicated to create your account (see above).
   This is most important because all your purchases are linked with your account here. So, when I log into my game, it looks
   like this:
   
   
   
   You see, my nick name is displayed the same way like on my account information screed: -IRRE-Therion
    
3. As you already mentioned accidentally your STEAM account, let me say one or two words about it:
   IL2 Great Battle does not care how you're supposed to be called on STEAM! This is not relevant!
   
   The only thing that needs synchronicity is your account information here and for the game.

Just to make it clear and to show you that the STEAM world and IL2 Great Battles can coexist without trouble:

 

I have an STEAM account too, with a completely different account name - it doesn't matter. Just make sure point 1 and 2 are correct and

corresponding. Hope it is a help for you.

P.S: I hope you didn't mess around with the startup.cfg file in your main game directory, I am right?

I think the matter is somewhere else. Please contact me at slyjack75@gmail.com. Then we can talk via some chat or FB if you have it. I will explain what I've got.

 

At this moment I can say I changed my nickname as you described in point 1 to Blackmessiah. I log in here with email above. Maybe the problem is my account here is not linked with Steam account. I have bought all BoX stuff on Steam. Find enclosed file - as I click at "Key Activation" option I don't know where I can find that number on Steam. I have only list of activated products there.

Problem solved. Official Il2 website treated my account as separate while logging in directly or via Steam. I logged in via Steam and change the settings. Works.
