Anyone know what comes next for FC?

For me, the Albatros DV.a and the SE5a are the two aircraft I will fly the most.

And more importantly, the actual detailing of the Western Front map is something I would love to have a glimpse of...

I don't care what's next.  Just so long as they do the DVII last.

Very good question.

Until the map gets here, there is no immersion.

It is great fun flying the aeroplanes, great fun meeting other pilots in the sky, but until there is context - maps,  missions, targets - there is no immersion.

Then I want an SE5a, please.

Check for the  Battle of Bodenplatte map. There are several prints out there of the landscape and the cities. The devs already told us that we will get exactly the same standard (landscape / cities), since it is located 'nearby' Arras, Lille.

I'm thinking more of a living battlefield and a better representation of the front lines than what we had with RoF...

I'm very happy with the standard of map making at present from the team, they have made vast improvements since BoS was released.

But 'no mans land' at the front, the trench lines and rear areas are something we have yet to see...

Ah, yeah, 'detailing'. That's a tricky question

The Fokker D.VII, D.VIIF, and the Sopwith Dolphin were announced today as the next planes.

The return of my most hated plane...with a vengeance...

Surprised that the S.E.5a and Alb haven't arrived yet! I'm itching to get my hands on both, but very much interested in the D.VII as well...

Take it to the deck in a camel, and he'll need to use altitude throttle to outspeed you.

... and as long as it's not a Russian pilot extended use of alt throttle will damage his engine.

FYI full alt throttle at sea level will give you 3 and a half minutes, plus or minus, before engine damage.  Take that for what it's worth.

But that is exactly it, Larner is speaking SPAD-wise and mostly somewhere high up there ...

Flying in a SPAD outfit makes one by defenition a 7f hater considering flying 7fs easy fare LOL

Yeah, I was looking forward to fly the Alby as well... Guess we'll need to wait a little longer. ?

That is a valid tactic in a SPAD v 7f too. Provided you take your wingman with you... ?

In a SPAD yes but don’t you think in a Camel one can stand his ground (?) about everywhere.
Depends of course largely on the pilot but one presumes easily finding somebody in a 7f is kind of defining ... )))

We were told from the begining it would be third party developpers;
But judging by what we got already that shouldn't worry us to much anymore.
Seems we can be pretty sure their finished stuff is passed along to the BOX programmers for finalising and testing.

And we may trust Bender to point out what they overlooked LOL

The higher the altitude, the slimmer the chance for the Camel pilot, if the 7F pilot is competent and uses energy and speed. But what do we know - we'll need to wait and compare once it's out. FC Camel is quite a different beast compared to the final RoF one.

Surprised it's not the SE5a / Alb DVa combo next but I'll take it.

Not the developer - it is that they'll start work on the map 'soon'.

Fun as flying the four aeroplanes is....

I really was hoping for a map, sooner, rather than later.

I'm getting your drift indeed; I remember a dogfight session with me in an Alb d5a vs Emely in a SE5 high up where he mostly did yoyo scissors and neither could get a decent fire resolution.

So mostly indecisive but it really got you quite busy )))

Next next one, next next one, next next one, next next one, next next one, next next one, )))))

Spot on, hahahah!

would be interesting to see a 230hp SPAD vs a VII F, or a 220hp SPAD vs a D.VII w/ D.IIIAü as well though!
