DR1 vs Camel

So i've been flying the Dr1 vs Camels a lot today on Berloga and i'm feeling really outclassed. Managed to score a number of kills but mostly manoeuvre kills instead of outright gun kills.

Let's say. When a Dr1 is locked in a right turning fight with a Camel. How could one best break this deadlock?

Not really, the Dr.I just rolls better in most situations.You can use this defense in the Pfalz as well, usually betting on a maneuver kill. In a scissor, faster roll tends to win angles.

 

Even though the Camel is more powerful and faster, hamfisted you can well bleed its energy such that it will become a target.

 

However, if the Camelite can keep his energy in tight coordinated turns and use its superior climb for vertical separation followed by a dive on you, then he‘s probably the better pilot anyway, so your chances are dim anyway.

take the camel slightly vertical and roll on the edge of a stall. Unless the camel driver is good he'll stall or spin eventually and either hit the deck or hand you enough energy advantage to turn inside him.
