Alfaunostebas11 Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I intend to create some missions for the Stalingrad scenario, focused on the initial phase of the battle, with the German advance and the battle for the Kalach bridge (first half of August 1942).But I can not find enough detailed historical informations ( except for something on Wikipedia ) on both the German and Soviet air units and planes involved in the clash and on the chronology of the battle. Can anyone tell me about the sources available on the web for this topic?
Juri_JS Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 (edited) I've attached the maps I've used to create the Kalach battle frontlines in my Ivan's War campaign. Unfortunately I can't remember where I found them on the net. And this might be useful too: https://www.e-periodica.ch/cntmng?pid=asm-004:1961:127::1002 Edited December 9, 2018 by Juri_JS
Alfaunostebas11 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Thanks Juri_JS, very interesting. I know also your Ivan's war, I played it with pleasure.
NETSCAPE Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 control + F "Kalach" here: http://www.allworldwars.com/Conversations-with-a-Stuka-Pilot-Paul-Werner-Hozzel.html ""In the Kalach tank battle it was our tactics to keep one Staffel of 9 to 12 planes (Stuka's) constantly in touch with the enemy. Whilst one Staffel still pressed home its last attack, the one following was approaching the target area." ~ Paul-Werner Hozzel In my old (now completely unplayable due to annoying AI) Stuka campaign I had a mission where you had to attack enemy Armor near Kalach.
