Pedro Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 All, It is with great sadness that I pass on to you that our friend and flying mate “Mongoose” Ralph Jimenez passed away yesterday morning at 3:30 AM from heart failure. I received a call from his wife today and she asked me to please let you know of his passing. He had been undergoing treatment for a tumor in his lung for the past couple of months and while in the hospital went into cardiac arrest. He was a true friend of all of us that fly IL2 and was deeply involved in the development and creation of WWII Bomber aircraft and historic paint schemes. He also was the go to person on anything involving WWII units in the Mediterranean theater of war. He actually found my uncles unit, his aircraft and crew plus the missions he flew. Goose was an amazing individual and so very talented. I will miss him - we will all miss him. L L L Dave B “Pedro” 12
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 So sorry for your loss Pedro it's always a difficult time for family and friends Take care R.I.P. Mongoose
JtD Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Really sad news. :( His bombers models were great, his background knowledge amazing - and he was a great guy to chat with on the net. RIP.
buster_dee Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) I'm just seeing this. Crushing news. Some of you know that Ralph and I teamed on the B-24 for IL2 46. I had worked for about 7 years on every station but the nose for a J model. When Ralph showed his D nose project, I started to mod my cockpit, and he started to sift through my other positions (he was good with Max; I couldn't use it if my life depended on it). My waist was a write-off, so he build one. My ball turret had--shall we say--too much poetic license--so he rebuilt that. The max import broke the cockpit, so he fixed that. I think only the tail turret let him put away the Excedrin. Basically, I doubled his workload, but I never heard a single complaint. A true gentleman. This one hurts. My prayers go out to his family and many friends. Requiescat in pace sir. Edited December 23, 2018 by buster_dee Forgot to mention family and firends 1 1
BlitzPig_EL Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Just saw this particular thread about the loss of 'Goose. We heard about it the day after his passing as well. I had the great pleasure to meet him at the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends, and of course had talked with him many times in chat and on comms. We have lost not only an asset to flight simulation, but, more importantly a wonderful human being as well. All of us BlitzPigs offer our condolences to his family and all of us sim nerds that knew him. EL sends.

Voxman Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Beautiful tribute for 'Guse. Flew with him on TUSA and enjoyed the banter we would have about B25s, P51 checker tails, and food. Great guy, sorry to read about the loss.
