stupor-mundi Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I was (in a tank) attacked, repeatedly, by a player controlled 110 or duck. I shot it twice from v close distance with APCR. From my point of view (multiplayer, latency wise), I saw the rounds hit the fuselage, but without the big kaboom expected. It was more of a subtle thing, as if the rounds bounced off, which seemed ridiculous. Shortly afterwards there was a message " outdated data received [the player's name] , 5.1 seconds or something like that. Is anyone familiar with the message, what it means? I'm trying to work out whether this had to do with multiplayer networking things, lag, or whether something about the damage model, APCR vs planes, is now off.
CountZero Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 (edited) i noticed same message like this today on vitebs mission on wol (that mission expirianced lags in 3007), it happend to two other guys in chat. I guess this is to tell you that something is wrong either with one of the guys involved netconection(lag) or mission is to heavy. You could see this happening in 3007 on missions that are overloaded and players would recive data from shooting later (more then few seconds lateer) , now in 3008 atleast you can get message in chat telling you what happend if this happend. Im looking forward to play on misions on wol that had lags and overload problems in 3007 to see how things are now in 3008. Edited December 5, 2018 by 77.CountZero
stupor-mundi Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 Yeah, in the meantime I've seen more of those messages, they seem quite common in the new version. Probably a waste of time wondering how exactly the message should be interpreted.
