Anyone know where "oxygen masks and goggles on and off" is set?

Update 3.008 states that this is now available, but I can't find any place in any menu to set it.

See this:

28. Bodenplatte pilots put on and remove oxygen mask when needed;
29. Bodenplatte and Flying Circus pilots put off their goggles on parking;

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Parked, Oxygen off, goggles off.

2. Running, goggles on

3. The hight between ground to 3999 meters, oxygen off, goggles on.

4. Over 4000 meters. Oxygen on, goggles on.

I thought oxygen generally came on at 3000m/10000 ft? I think that's when it does in soviet planes anyway...

It does. Soviet pilots start using oxygen at lower altitude. I think it’s based on their pilot manuals.

It's little things like this that make me love this sim even more.

hi    guys.  i think the new pilot faces are so realistic,but so are piolets with oxygen masks,but i do think we should have the option to keep them on or remove them.almost all real piolets that fly  real fighters keep them on because of the carbon manoxide that seeps into cockpit.it looks much more realistic seeing them with masks on than off what do you guys think?

Ok, at least I know I'm not crazy!

Funny that the Luftwaffe would have a whole 1000m higher before requiring it.

IIRC the pilots manual for the P-47 recommends just keeping it on all the time so you don't forget, plus the microphone for the radio is in there. I may be remembering incorrectly though.

I'm gonna be real with you guys here though, the pilots models are gorgeous but I'm never really going to see them with the setup I play on. I don't use external views or take screenshots all that much and when I'm close enough to the enemy to see their pilots I have other things on my mind! So mask on or off doesn't impact me much.

Well If we’re going for a realistic approach here I would be much happier if I could put it on manually with a key. Would have been even better if we had to manually start the flow of oxygen as well.

The automatic aspect is fine by me, but I`d at least like to see the animation of the pilot removing or putting on the mask. As is, it`s just on his mouth one second than gone the next, I hope they rectify that when they get the chance. The models themselves are excellent.

Honestly, it would be cool for like 10 minutes. Then it would just become a regular part of your pre-flight routine to put on the mask while still on the ground and then forget about it for the rest of the flight.

Don't worry guys, I have it on good authority that the next update will come with Legos, action figures (with kung fu grip), and dinosaurs.

Well that's the most probable scenario ;) But I was simply thinking out loud, I’m ok with how it is right now.

Its an artistic touch but it seems very strange to me why a pilot with a Microphone in his mask would be taking off and putting on an Oxy mask passing 10,000ft. If you have a mask you wear it. No Mask you cant talk on the radio.

Not always, for example LW used throat microphones AFAIK.

Have you never seen pilots having their mask unstrapped on one side and still can talk into the mic?

Exactly.

At first glance I thought that image 3 and 4 were real life images. Of an airshow or something like that.

Great shots.

Not IRL :) only in the movies.

Yes I am aware of throat mics too.
