Hi Folks,

Ive just finished a new computer build and put my copy of IL2 BOS on my ssd.

I'm finding that I can program any button for my TH Warthog joystick/Throttle in the settings menu and it will see and save it, but when I press the button

in the sim nothing happens. My axis are working fine.

I have installed the 'redist' files in the main folder and tried letting IL2 create a new 'input' folder with no joy.

Anybody heard of this problem and know how to fix it?

Many thanks for any help.

Did you use a Target profile on your last system?

I accidentally deleted mine when I rebuilt my system a couple of months ago and (I have no f*cking idea how, but) when I went to create a new, slightly different profile I could only get buttons which I had previously setup with keystroke commands in Target on my old system to register in BoX if I set them up as keystroke commands again.

This was after formatting my old SSD and reinstalling Windows and BoX on a new M.2 SSD.

The Target profile had the same name too.

Also BoX remembered what peripherals I was using (had the input folder backed up at least) and I needed a Target profile running for it to not think the Warthog throttle was a different device.

I hope maybe some of this info is helpful.

Hi FlyingH,

Thanks for the tip...it worked....I now have guns etc.

The only thing I cant get to work now is the number 5 'centre view' button.

I use VR and when I try to set my throttle hat switch to num pad 5 'centre view' it sees the allocation of the button in settings but it wont work in sim? However, pressing num pad 5 does work and centres the view.

Many thanks for your help .

I have found that many switches on the Warthognthrottle can not be assigned in game. Like the toggle switches and three way switches. They can only be used by programming key presses in Target.

If you don´t want to use the script editor, try the GUI first. But I think learning scripting will give you a lot of opportunities that the GUI can´t deliver! It takes some fiddeling but with the manual at hand it´s quite straight forward and there are a lot of tips over at SimHQ that helps + there are quite a few members that are very helpful if you get stuck.

Windows joy is limited to 32 button, so many warhog buttons cannot be mapped directly and only by Target. In addition, BOX doesn't like button combinations did in target and you need to take some workaround to make it work. I think I put a post somewhere here about this stuff...

If you do not use Target you have 2 periphericals instead of 1. So you'll have 64 buttons theorically. But you'll loose a lot of features that Target gives, the "shift" function for example.
