Almost finished setting up joystick. Can use your help with finalizing a few settings that I can't figure out

I've been in and out of Key Mapping for a couple of days now setting up my joystick (VKB Gladiator). There are tons of options but I can't find the last few I need before I'm ready to fly with (and get shot down by) some of you. I have been using the FW 190 to test my settings. Here is what I am unable to achieve and hope you can give me direction to complete setup:

Zoom: I would prefer to bind this to one hat switch position, but I will use two hat positions if needed. What I can't achieve is a snap-like or toggle in/out zoom. I prefer to zoom immediately out and immediately in without a zoom transition. Perhaps there's a way to speed-up the transition from in to out positions.

Adjust Gunsight: My FW 190 gunsight is not currently centered horizontally and I would also like to move it a little on the vertical.

Mouse Views: I use TrackIR so will not be using the mouse for views. Sometimes I accidentally move the mouse and have to reset my view. How do I deactivate mouse views? Do I have to delete all of the settings for it in Key Mapping or is there a better way?

Thank you in advance for your help. This seems like a great community!

Hi DragonDaddy, here's my suggestion :

Zoom: Go into the settings, and the "camera" menu. Here you can tweak the zoom speed. I don't remember exactly what slider does what, it is probably under the name of FOV change speed and FOV change inertia. Put all the sliders at either 0 or 100% and see what happens. I adjusted my zoom speed there, but it was a few years back so I don't recall all the details.

Adjust Gunsight: You have in the key binding section the "Pilot head control" and down the list there are a few commands named move pilot head forward/backward/left/right.... can't recall the default bindings (you may want to change this for something you remember, mines are on Ctrl+numpad keys). DON'T Forget to turn your TrackIR OFF beforehand, or this will not work. Tweak the head position to your liking and use the save with F10. It will also save in the zoom level, so you can zoom out fully before saving the view. I also HIGHLY recommend that in the same menu, you look for the line Save current corrections in head snap position (F10 by default) and change it for ctrl+F10 or some not-easy-to-reach combination, because if you accidentaly press it, it will ruin your default head position.

Mouse Views: Same pilot head control section, delete the bow pilot head horizontally/verically assignment

Cheers !

+1 on this

I've done the same after a few accidental saves of a wrong default position.

Thanks very much. I’ll give this a try.

Followed the above advice and all worked fine except slowing the zoom. Although I believe I initially saw inputs for inertia and fov, I can no longer find them. Can anyone direct me to them? Thanks

Pardon me! I found the “missing” controls.

If I remember correctly there is also command for default zoom that gives you saved zoom level (saved with F10). If you haved saved wide zoom level you could use this command to instantly zoom out regardless of your inertia/speed settings.
