Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X Mapping

Hi all,

So after asking around what the best entry-level joystick for IL-2 was, I was persuaded to buy the above. Searching these forums, all I find reference to and suggested mappings for is the T.16000M and while I... get the hint... that was still way more than I wanted so spend on a stick (plus a copy of the game) when I wasn't sure I'd even like it.

So, I'm hoping there's at least someone out there who can suggest some general mappings for my stick, and I'd be really grateful. I'm currently using fairly vanilla settings, with some weird additions like using the Hat for trim, the stick twist for rudder (rather than the rocker; don't know what people think about that?), cannon/MG/both on a button/trigger each, and the rest of the buttons for stuff like gear/tailwheel, zoom in/out, etc. Basically all of my engine management is still on the keyboard, as I... do not have many buttons to play with (secondary factor: too retarded to change many of these mid-dogfight anyway).

Any help or tips - no matter how minor - would be really appreciated!

You can add more functionality to your stick using an keymapper to implement "shift" and "mode", e.g  for use HAT for trim and something else under "shift".

Options is Joy2Key, Joystick Gremlin, Xpadder, SVMapper.

Sample of "shift" with Joy2key:

Great, thanks - I'll look into it.
