MiloMorai Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Are Paracas Elongated Skulls a New Species, Aliens or a Hoax? Initial DNA analysis of one of the 3,000-year-old elongated skulls found in Paracas, Peru, has revealed that they may not have been come from humans but from a completely new species, according to Paracas Museum assistant director Brien Foerster. Foerster, who also runs his own tour group company in Peru and has authored 11 books on ancient history, told Ancient Origins that a geneticist who tested skull samples has found that they contain mutated DNA that does not match any known genetic DNA information in GenBank, an open-access sequence database of all the known genetic data in the world. The unidentified geneticist told Foerster: "It had mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) with mutations unknown in any human, primate, or animal known so far. But a few fragments I was able to sequence from this sample indicate that if these mutations will hold we are dealing with a new human-like creature, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovans." "I am not sure it will even fit into the known evolutionary tree," the geneticist added. more http://uk.news.yahoo.com/paracas-elongated-skulls-species-aliens-hoax-133156477.html#Sppbr6P
AndyJWest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Is there any actual evidence that this "unidentified geneticist" exists anywhere but in Brien Foerster's imagination? I'm sure that the 'analysis' will help him sell more books...
Finkeren Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The skulls are real enough, but they are most definately human. Why is it, that people looking for ET life, always end up with something remarkably resembling forms of life that already exists on this planet?
Finkeren Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Hi raaaid. I wondered, when we would see you here...
Trooper117 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 ''Hi raaaid. I wondered, when we would see you here...'' Can't get rid of him, he's on just about every forum I visit... like mould... Anyway, conspiracy theories, was god an alien?, has anyone here been abducted by aliens? (don't answer that on raaaaid... we know you are a spaceman)
DD_bongodriver Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Top marks to Milo for creating a topic that is too weird for raaaid to believe though.. 1
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) These skulls are amazingly cool! It appears there has been some sort of mutation around in the Meso-Americas favouring a non-lethal hydrocephalus-like condition that lent itself easily to cranial modification. It's amazing what these people managed with a few rags, a piece of plank and some patiente. The so called "Star Child" (google it at your own risk) appear to be part of the same assemblage. But a few fragments I was able to sequence from this sample indicate that if these mutations will hold we are dealing with a new human-like creature, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovans." So, Homo habilis then? Edited February 13, 2014 by 79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer
DD_Arthur Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 So, Homo habilis then? Possibly but Homo turpis volutpat would seem more appropriate.
kestrel79 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Where's that ALIENS meme when you need it with the guy with the spiked hair haha.
FuriousMeow Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) It was found to be skull wrapping that leads the skull to grow in an unnatural manner. Why the did it, who knows. EDIT: Friendly_Flyer already stated that, although it wasn't hydrocephalus because the brain wasn't malformed and these individuals lived well into adulthood whereas those with hydrocephalus (water on the brain) don't make it much past their first year of life.
