New kill credit and aircraft condition system faulty

Unfortunately the new kill credit und aircraft condition system, meaning the way kills and the aircraft condition after landing/ditching are logged by the server are unplausible and worse then before the update in online battles. Let me show you 2 examples to clarify.

Example 1:

Aircraft heavily damaged, shot off elevator, still managing to ditch on an active airfield without wheels, leading to a bent propeller and surely an underbody in quite bad condition.

Kill credit: Enemy doesn't get a kill. That's actually good, more realistic then before. But unfortunately that's where the good things of the update end.

Aircraft condition: Landed! Not even ditched. Meaning, this is a perfect landing and you can take off with the aircraft immediately after landing. In a realistic server like TAW, where every aircraft counts, this is a big problem. (Fault 1)

People are already gaming this "feature" and diching their aircraft on friendly fields in masses, because it doesn't make sense to do a proper landing anymore.

Example 2:

Aircraft get hit by a couple of rounds into the wing by an enemy far away. Staying in the air, because no noticable damage. 10 minutes later a friendly aircraft went head on in a confusing situation and got a hit into the water radiator, leading to a leakage. So trying to get home, but water runs out just before the active friendly airfield, so i decide to land on a non-active airfield some 15km away from the active one, to not damange the engine (basically what a real life pilot would do). Landing was perfect on two wheels, no damage done to the aircraft, no damage on the engine.

Aircraft condition: Ditched! This lead to a total loss of the aircraft, not even a "repair" to get it back one mission later. (Fault 2)

Kill credit: Enemy who got a couple of hits into my wing before got a kill. (Fault 3)

What would happen in real life?

Example 1 would need quite a lot of repairs, new elevator which isn't easy to fix on the aircraft, new propeller, new underbody components because of structural problems, new painting on the underside of the airplane. In worst case the aircraft would be a total loss, because engineers deem the risk to high that the underbody is not structural safe anymore. In best case this would be a days work of mechanics, when all spare parts are there.

Example 2: A truck with two mechanics would come over from the active airfield, sealing the radiator hole, filling in new water. Aircraft would be airworthy again. Could probably be done in 30 min.

So there is a huge discepancy between the game and realism. Now i know, most people are probably not very fussed about it. The singeplayers don't have to worry about this kind of faulty mechanics. A part of the multiplayer crew also won't bother, because in gamey servers like Wings of Liberty or Knights of the Air kills and surviving aircraft don't really matter.

But in a "full real" server like TaW, where every aicraft counts, faulty logics like this get revealed. And they are a real bummer in terms of gameplay and realism. Leading to people gaming the system and other people getting punished when trying to play it as real as possible.

I do like the new kill mechanics but I do agree they need to be improved upon.

One thing I'd like to see added is the need to land back at base to claim a kill that way players can't get credit for the kill if they die. It would give players even more reason to return to base instead of wasting their life and aircraft.

This. It would be a huge quality of life improvement to multiplayer and it would be a dead simple way to encourage more tactical flying and realism. And a relatively easy fix, moreso than some other proposed MP realism changes.

Yep, hope the devs take a look at this and consider adding it. Do they even read the suggestions thread? I might say something there.

Its already implemented on Taw. The kills dont add up to your tally if you die. So its up to other server owners to add

It would be nice if it was forced though like the new kill system, instead of it being up to the server owners.
