Any rift user can play the game using vr after resent steam vr update?

Hello,

 

Since the last update of steam vr, I get 108 error and can't use my rift. I'm wondering if anyone here using rift find a work around for it by either fix the steam vr problem or possibly have a method to bypass steam vr?

last steam vr update brought issues to a lot of oculus users, try to install openvrcomposite and see if it works https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/blob/master/README.md#system-wide-installation

it works for me, but only if I keep Steam running in the background.
