So is it a 4KK4 or a K44K? ?

Awesome as always!

Very nice work! Just a couple of notes, wing leading edge has usually wavy pattern since '44, there is straight lines too but most of them has wavy one.

Also in many cases Erla haube was left to RLM 66 both in and outside, they were pre-painted masked. Again there was exceptions, probably different practices between factories.

Edit. those remarks are for the skinners, not so much for the template ?

Stunning job, looking forward to release!

Excellent info, I noticed the darker Erla haube colour and assume it was just the same dark camo colour as the rest of the plane.  I will fix this.  I will also add the wavy pattern on the wing leading edges.

Also Pierre PM'd me with some other detailing info.  Are these 4 fabric covered bolts a standard fixture on the K4?

I'm 99% sure they are not standard, they are not visible on most of the other pics.

They must be standart with DB-605 D and the motor bonnet type 100 fitted on k-4 and maybe with some G-10, but not really sure of that.

"On K-4, 4 holes covered with pellets of canvases are visible on the fairing quarter-round.
These ports provide access to the transformer retaining bolts that feed the artificial horizon."

Ok, well possible then. Where is this quote from, wartime manual?  I've just checked from Jean-Claude Mermets book "Messerschmitt Bf 109 G1 through K4 engines and fittings" and can't find any mentions of those.

Or I could just add them as an option in my template ?

That would be good solution indeed ?

It comes from an off-series of the French magazine Aéro journal
on the identification of messerschmitt BF109G & K by Jean Claude Mermet also, July-August 2008
There is the same illustration, but there is an other one just for the K-4, I've not the material to show you at home
but I can do it tomorrow if you wish.

There the picture from the mag.

The mag is out of stock but jean-Claude Mermet write a book in 2014 concerning all BF 109s, traducted in english in 2016:

https://www.amazon.fr/Messerschmitt-Bf-109-complete-monography/dp/2916403140/ref=la_B00QNA7XY2_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1543677448&sr=1-1

In the mag there is mention of G10 with this same motor bonnet, motorized by DB 605 D but there is no photos or profiles showing that.

Look at your PM DB6005.

Thanks for the heads-up on the book guys, I just bought a copy.  I prefer the technical books much more than the pilot biographies and this one looks excellent.
