Check out that leading edge reflection. Always loved what the 63rd did with their P-47Ms and I believe this is the first one to be uploaded.

I feel like today is a good day to bump this thread as we now have access to 150 grade fuel, which turns the P-47D into something approaching the P-47M ?

Maybe. But not with that paint job. I like the bare metal finishes on US aircraft. 

 

Was it actually bare? Or was there a coat of dope or lacquer to prevent oxydisation?
