escape key

When in multiplayer my escape key will not let me respawn.  It will freeze up the computer and I have to do a restart. This dose not happen every time but at least once a session and it will vary between sites.  Windows 7 is my operating system.  I would be very appreciative if some me with this.        Graygoose

I noticed in my VR sessions the Esc key will stop working at all (can't pull up the menu), and even the keyboard starts to respond in a weird way. I found that alt-tab'ing out of the game to desktop and back brings back the esc menu. .. this may be a VR only experience though..

If it is really freezing up your system causing you to do a hard reset you probably have a hard ware issue.

This happens to me when some key (on my DIY panel) gets stuck, i.e., I have some switches that run macros with SHIFT+key, CTRL+key, etc... somethimes (I've yet to debug it) a SHIFT or CTRL key isn't released properly, and as such, the ESC key doesn't bring the menu up. Solution is to alt-tab, and usually things get ok after that. Maybe something similar on your end?

 

EDIT: I'm not on VR train, and this also happens in SP mode as well.

ah, I see. I don't have any switches with macro, but I do have a little rii bluetooth keyboard that's strapped to my hand (pip boy style ), which I think ocassionaly gets stuck with its shift/ctrl keys. Thanks for the hint, I'll try the 'unstuck' method by banging on the keys ..

Got this problem today. Tried alt-tab. No joy. Game does respond to keyboard (things like P for pause, view changes), but not the escape key. And that's after a 45minute career flight in which I downed two or maybe three jerries. Meh.

 

I'm in VR by the way and on earlier flights the menu *did* work!

Alt + tab out to desktop and bring up somr notepad app to see if you have a stuck key. You should get a line of letters, numbers or symbols repeating there if it´s a stuck key. (Usually the flaps key is forgotten in up or down position which hinders the esc key to work)
