CzechTexan Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) My first flight... I finally got IL-2 Great Battles - Battle for Kuban! Here are some pics (because I'm so excited). I started takeoff from Adler, flew east along the coast to gain altitude, and then turned north along the last river valley. Slowly gaining altitude, I barely made it over the Caucasus mountain range, having to increase throttle to survive. Made a perfect landing at Maykop. My graphics settings need to be adjusted a little but, nevertheless, the scenery was fantastic looking. Edited December 10, 2018 by CzechTexan 5
Uufflakke Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Hi CT, nice to see you around here. Your request for a Battle of Caucasus doesn't surprise me at all. I used to fly a lot over those mountain tops in old IL2.

Maybe someday we'll have the rest of the Caucasus (up to Grozny) on a map. Well, at least the Kuban map's border is much more to the east than the old IL-2 1946 Kuban map so that we can portray battles for Tuapse and Maikop better. There were some large tank battles in the Terek River region in the eastern Caucasus. A map of that region would be good for IL-2 Tank Crew. That's also where the Night Witches flying the Po-2/U-2vs got started. Devs need to read The Caucasus and the Oil and Battle for the Caucasus.
jeanba Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Welcome I am a big fan of your Il2 campaigns

Lately I've been building a new Sturmovik campaign. It includes missions from the previously-made Battle for the Caucasus Parts 1-4 so that pilots can fly the Sturmovik from August 1942 to January 1943.
