Updates breaking career performance

I'm on VR. The problem with career perfomance was an old one but then it got fixed. Updates with career performance in VR have proceeded like, Good- bad - bad- bad- good - bad- bad... It means I have to wait many months for fixes that come along that improve performance and stop the fps drops (in career mainly but now QMB is also affected) or bad performance, only for another to come along, and break it again.

First update all was fine. 3.002 came along and the game started having random FPS drops although they were not random but always occured on mission start and in other missions (bomber especially) and situations. These FPS drops are present again now, but this time there is also just bad general performance with FPS counters rising all falling all over the place.

Another update comes along and the problem is fixed. Great I think they solved the problem!

 

But now I get to thinking that the fix was an accident, as yet another update comes along, and for me the VR experience in VR/Career (and now QMB) has never been worse, with others reporting the same. Its probably only a minority of users affected, and as it is for me a VR problem that probably means its a minority within a minority, which leaves little hopes of complaints like this receiving any attention, but there are others who have reported the same . 

 

I know from experience that this is a problem that can easily be fixed but the frustrating thing is even if it is fixed it is probable that yet another update will come along that will break it again.

 

With all these updates I really wish there was a beta system in which we  could roll back to a version with good performance.

 

Updates are great and I appreciate them enormously, but they also bring with them a plethora of unforseen and unintended problems, that some may experience, and others won't leaving the former trapped. Being trapped in one version that is faulty for the best part of four months or more, hoping that an update will come along and accidentally put things right again, puts me me off to be honest.

The performance right now in career/QMB is worse than I have ever seen it and that's even with motion smoothing that even makes DCS butter smooth.
