Flying Circus server??

Hello,

 

I just bought the game and unfortunately I can't find a server for Flying circus! It's always IL2 stalingrad with ww2 aircrafts.. and there are no filters to select FC game?!

 

Anybody know a server for FC or if there is a way to only see FC servers?

- Shooting Stars has 2 FC servers running 24/7.

- The Unprofessionals have 1 FC server

- Beloga server has an FC area

- There's also a Chinese FC server that I can't recall the name of.

 

Probably more than these but number of servers isn't really the problem right now.

With mods enabled you can also see our "FAC - The Flying Ass Clowns" Server which features a WW1 area on our training mission as well.

You get to fly FC planes of your choice and meet other FC players or, alternatively, AI in a dedicated area shown on the map.

AI uses random planes with random skills and respawns 30sec. after getting shot down.

Player bases are flak protected to avoid base campers / spawn killers.

Today I saw, that "Jasta 5" have also opened a server now. There you can either fly (SPAD XIII or Fokker Dr.I),
or do some training on WW2 tanks, on a very small island east of the Crimean.

well i'm disappointed about FC. There is literally nobody playing it... I should have just reinstall ROF... Btw do you guys know if there are still some players on ROF?

Tanks may be a bug. I tried to spawn in a Pzkw III  but only saw water.  Maybe the weight of the tanks sunk the island.

You will find people everyday on the NFF servers (icons / AIs). From 3 to 16 players everyday during Eropean, US and Oceania prime time, so you frequently have people flying there. Then there is the Thursday gathering at US night time, then on Sundays people gather at Cubans in the European afternoon.

 

You wont find a lot of people, but consistant players and lots of good matchups with veterans. 

 

I might try to be at Berloga during the late afternons if I can. Seems to be the best option so far (although it is locked with 100% fuel - for an airquake setup??). No AI, no icons and I experience little lag / stutter, although I'm in South America. For who is in Europe, the pings might be good. Maybe when they release the Fokker D7 and the SE5a, things will get better and a couple of servers dedicated to FC and based in Europe and the US might show up.

I’m holding off until we have the Western Front map and a couple more planes. The current planeset is in any case ill-suited for fast food dogfighting. Hopefully we’ll get the D.VII(F) next.

Probalby it would help having at least 1 seeder plane each. Same as in the other areas.

Well to be fair, the game isn't actually in existence yet - we just have some toys to play with as a reward for stumping up the cash for it early.

Agreed. That is a feature that we'll need as Tank Crew, Flying Circus, etc. get mixed into things. The devs have said that they are working on a new multiplayer lobby system (with quite a few more features from the sounds of it) so that sort of thing is coming.

Right now we're still in the Early Access period and we're still in the early part of it. Four aircraft (two just released in the last two weeks) are really all that we have so far. Once the map and more aircraft show up I think we'll see this start to grow. I'm looking forward to some WWI multiplayer battles sooner than later hopefully.

Yeah fingers crossed more server space will be dedicated to WW1 as proper maps & more planes become available. I'm assuming that us obsessives who paid for early access are in a minority so there should be more biplane flyers once it's released.

Well, I can garantee that if I'm showing on the barans.ru website at Berloga, it's because I'm at the Flying Circus dedicated area (or willing to go that way).

I was on Berloga the other night collecting some performance data by skimming the treetops, being in areas of water reflections, etc., and found I get much better FPS in VR there than standard offline single player. I suspect it's because the single player missions are "crapped up" with all sorts of ground stuff like buildings, etc. That could mean that people with lower end machines who might think online play would be too taxing for their systems could find it better than SP.  I got shot down before I got to collect a lot of data, but I did get enough to merit further runs when the server is empty. I saw around a 33% increase in framerate from SP to MP.

Airfield spacing on Kuban.

 

Just going to throw this out here in case anyone actually running an FC server is reading.

 

Opposing Airfields located either side of the sea on Kuban map are waaay too far apart for the sim in its current state. 

I find the spacing on Shooting Stars - Lapino works pretty well though.

It is correct that J5 has an open server. all four planes available. However the northern end of the tank map has the tank that spans in the water. The AI in one part of the map are aggressive and the AI over the fields are for gunnery practice. Also players can also dogfight each other. We are waiting for the map and other aircraft as well but this is just something for people to mess around in till we get. Our intentions in the future is to have a obstacle course as well.

 

The server is in process of updating and is currently off line.
