EAF19_Marsh Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) Slightly light-hearted topic. Was leafying through my Biggles books (more weight on WW1 than they are often given credit) and he refers to German observation a/c being used deliberately as ‘bait’ with a watching section of scouts to knock down an unwary RFC flier. Now, to a British perspective this undoubtedly appeared as the design of the dastardly Hun but is there any record of this actually being utilised as a tactic on either side? I presume it was actually a case of a general escort / convergent patrols surprising one another. Edited November 25, 2018 by EAF19_Marsh
