Rjel Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 I posted about this once before. Wings and Airpower were each published in alternative months under those titles but were in reality the same magazine. It was my favorite aviation magazine from when I first started reading it in 1977 until its demise in the mid 2000s. It was a very well written magazine with articles written by some well know authors. I had been buying back issues when I could but honestly that's gotten too expensive. Thankfully they've released the entire collection as PDFs. I was hesitant about buying them that way as nothing replaces holding a book or magazine while I read it. But after looking at their collections of like articles on given airplanes, I decided to try the P-47 set. For $29.95 I've got over 1000 pages of magazine articles, three different versions of P-47 pilot manuals and a bonus of dozens of pictures of Thunderbolts. These are complete scans of the printed magazine so it includes articles on other aircraft including one on the Stormovik. Any fear these would be unreadable or marred by blurry pictures were unfounded. The only disappointment were the photos that were center page shots as most are misaligned. But that's an issue with paper bound books and magazines too. The picture below is taken directly from the PDF I just downloaded. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for quality articles, pictures and research without having to spend hundreds of dollars doing so. There selection is huge. https://airwingmedia.com/downloads/p47-thunderbolt/ 1
