Ruben_Szabo Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Here's the problem: when I download a skin and wanna edit it further, I have to convert it to JPG. This isn't a problem, but the converted file always comes with a white-ish layer (see picture), and all the darker color things are white, even after I sort of remove that white layer. How can I avoid having this white layer on the converted file? Or, how can I edit DDS? With Photoshop (CS6 if that matters) I can't edit it.
durruti Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Hi, there are very good instructions how to edit skins by SCG_BOO, look here :
JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 I use a simple program call DXTBmp and you open any dds skin and save it to a .BMP then use your paint program to edit it like PSP or Photoshop or GIMP. Then once your done save it with the DXTBmp as a DDS 5 file and your good. Make sure you have your alpha channels too .
SR603-Flowbee Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop This link should give you access to the required plugins for using dds and normal maps from within cs6. I upgraded and then found out that I could just add the plugins to cs2 instead.
