Can't log in offline

When I don't have an internet connection, I can't log into il2.

 

The launcher will always scan for updates and never show the start button.

 

If I circumvent this and start il2 directly and hit the "log in offline" button, the game tells me it needs to be updated - even though it is up to date.

 

Ironically logging in offline works quite well, as long as I'm online...
