Trooper117 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 The cat found it's way into my man cave and decided to chew up my Track clip pro!... Bummer
Dutchvdm Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I feel for you man. I’m super strict when it comes to no cat’s in my work/game room. grt M
Guest deleted@50488 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Lost my TIR 5 as far back as June this year, but got my way around and now play IL.2 and War Thunder ( Simulator Battles ) using the mouse and coolie hat... It's actually more effective in WT, but can probably be configured as good for IL.2 ... I have adapted to it, with time, and completely forgot abou that ultra-expensive controller. they as €180 for it aorund here !!!! Have been considering some accelerometer-based DIY or payware but a lot chepaer alternatives though.
LLv34_Flanker Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 S! Von-Target. Delan Clip and OpenTrack with the modified PS3 Eye camera. Cost effective and works like a charm.
Archie Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 I still remember when the cat chewed through the cable on my brand new CH pedals a decade ago...
Picchio Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 The cat commands respect. I couldn't resist its sweet presence (she was just a month old, then) and it chewed every cable available. It left bite marks everywhere (TrackIR included, yeah) but for some reason never snapped a cable. Luckily, she only did that when I was there, so I could stop her... real primadonna.
BP_Lizard Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Ouch! Do you have basic soldering skill, or know someone who does? I don’t think its any different from a standard USB cable with 3-5 color-coded wires inside. Nothing a little bit of solder and heatshrink tubing couldn’t fix.
Finkeren Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Sorry for the loss of your Track Clip Pro... ...and your cat, I presume. 2
Guest deleted@83466 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Don't listen to anything Finkeren, or anyone from Denmark, has to say about cats.
Trooper117 Posted November 24, 2018 Author Posted November 24, 2018 Well, with two cat's and two dogs I have to have eyes in the back of my head, lol! The big cat and the two dogs are generally fine and usually sprawl out and sleep by the computer chair, but the little cat is not even a year old yet and is at everything. I usually shut him out, but all it takes is for me to forget and leave the room to make a cuppa or something, and 'bingo', he's in and clambering over everything! Anyhow, I still love him (the little shit) and the new track clip has come and working well 2 2

You could also look at it this way: You paid a 1000$ for a certifiable healthy cat, where you might have paid 1000$ for a dying cat. 2 1
Lusekofte Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 I had this little chopper running on batteries, it cost about 150$ and is really a authentic and reasonable way into RC choppers. When getting good at it I chased our cat with it, he was pretty fixed at anything that could fly. Robust stubborn grumphy and in general like me. After a chase, witch I in my mind would make the cat believe my chopper was over him in the food chain. I landed the chopper in the bookshelf and went to eat dinner. When I came back the chopper was in small microscopic bits, totally wrecked by that cat. I blame that one on me 1
RhumbaAzul Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I've had 8 cats in my life, i currently have 2, one of which is a male Bengal, known for their destructive capabilities and a female, tortie ,British long hair , none have ever tried to chew a cable, not once, not ever. They may have done a lot of other bad stuff? but never chewed on cables. I do provide them with a lot of stimulation in things such as toys, climbing trees and general play and attention from myself, maybe you cat is bored? I found that having 2 cats at almost all times stops them from being bored. 1
Elem Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 I came home last weekend and went to my PC. There was a pool of liquid around the LH speaker, running under my printer and monitor and dripping down onto the switch panel of the PC, just on the verge of dripping inside!! It was my cats piss!! He has pissed on my monitor in the past, while I'm using it. This was probably because he was lonely while I was out. So having cleaned it up, I felt it safe to turn on, but the speakers were dead. A good excuse to replace them with better ones at £140. Lesson: Shut study door when out! 1
