FAE_Azor Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 (edited) Firstly many thanks for your great job and constant improvement on that amazing simulator. I had not realized until now with the arrival of P47 and after see some videos on YouTube, that many players fly with the cabin open at high altitudes. I think that this aspect is not well modeled, without pressurization or oxygen the rise in height would produce what in medicine is called acute mountain sickness or acute altitude sickness, with that you can not even breath properly and of course impossible to maneuver a plane in turns due the dizziness headache and the changes on pulmonary circulatory system, those symptoms starting above 2000 to 3000 meter if you climb fast, the atmospheric pressure falls a half and the temperature is about -30 at 5000 meters, so in my opinion it is unrealistic that the plane behaves the same (technically the device has that entire capacity) but does not take into account the human factor, the pilot's capacity would be very impaired. AndyJWest Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 None of the aircraft modelled in the IL-2 GB series had pressurised cockpits.
FAE_Azor Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 what is the point then, flying with the cockpit closed? It is a great advantage to fly open it, if there is no difference, every body now flying with cockpit open... not very realistic
9./JG27golani79 Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 You are slowed down and have no protection at all. Not sure though on how great the difference in speed is as I´ve never tested it myself.
FAE_Azor Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 I had not realized it until now, but watching the p47 videos, it's even more agile than the Fw 190 with cockpit closed
