Looking forward to seeing the talented members here creating a selection of 56th FG skins for the Wolfpack :)

And thanks for your templates ICDP

Thank you very much - it's looking great!

Count me amongst the impressed. How about some 56th Fighter Group skins, please. Can't believe there wasn't a single one in the default group. Hopefully some skinners will start making some using your template, because...wow..it's really good.

I'm very proud to present my latest 4k template pack.

Ooops! If I hadn't been in such a hurry to post, i would have noticed the request was already made!

Lovely.

Why is the aft anti-glare not symmetrical?

Not sure I used the default skin as a template but it can be easily fixed.

It looks like it on the last pic - to the left of the fin rather than meeting the base.

I see what you mean but I think it might be the reflection of the fin on the fuselage that's causing it to look off centre.

Excellent work, thank you very much, really appreciated.:drinks:

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

ICDP, looks like one of the skins from the preview shots above is missing in the pack - the "bare metal weathered" (4th and 6th pic). In the attached zip we either get the non-marked 100% clean skin, or the weathered one, but with black stripes on empennage (leftovers from invasion schemes it seems).

Posted

I added the ID stripes as they were common on the P-47 in late 44 early 45.  If you want I can upload a weathered bare metal skin without the black ID stripes?

If you don't mind, please do :)

Sure - don't have the sim open in front of me so was just going by the shots.

Lovely work, in any case ?

As a tester I had access to extract the base .DDS default skin to start creating a template.

Thank you so much for all your hard work on the wonderful template ICDP.

I have a  question though. I have a "bare metal shine" on any camouflage and personal emblems that I have applied. I'm clearly doing something wrong and any help would be gratefully received.

Hi Bugsy

This is certainly the site to be recommended if you want to make anything but fantasy schemes !

A lot of the profiles appearing there have  to be thoroughly checked , or simply checked with other sources, to be honest.

I have seen a lot of , sorry crap works based honestly by the skinner on this source !

I do not blame the skinner , only the site that is spreading just false infos!

Don't rely on the default alpha layer it will treat anything other than the anti glare panels as bare metal.

Make sure you duplicate your new skin in the alpha template.  Copy your markings layer over to the alpha and make it very dark grey.

I have "Use 4K Skins" enabled yet when I save as a 4K DDS, the game won't load the texture. It starts bugging out and freezing up. I'm using "ARGB 8.8.8.8".

DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp? This is what I use and it works fine.

Question.

When I have added new layers, desaturated them and ajusted the grey tone, in the alpha template. I assume it shall be flatten, but then what?

Save it as? Copy it to the channels?!

Using Photoshop CS3.

ctrl a to select the Alpha layer of the template you're painting

del to delete it

ctrlA to select the Alpha layer you have worked on

ctrl shift c to copy

ctrl v to paste in the Alpha layer of the template you're painting.

I hope it will help you.

Paste it into the channels?!

Because that is the only place I see the original alpha layer.
